Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo Episode 02 Released!

Hi. Miki here to release Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo episode 2. Now for a copy pasta

Joint with Ahodomo

Welcome back, ladies and mentlegen! This lovely monday Tuesday morning at 5am, Aho-Taku is proud to present Sakurasou no Pet na– aw fuck it. You get the point.

Anyway, we managed to realllyyy speed things up as you might notice. Not only a 24 hour release, but if we didn’t have some technical issues with the raw and the .pass file, we could probably have released 4-5 hours earlier. One of our typesetters had IRL obligations for a while as well, so taking all of that into account… I’m actually pretty damn proud that we pulled off a release in one night. Of course, a few of us sacrificed a lot of sleep for it, but whatever. (lyger, msm595, and I)

Fun fact: Miki’s internet derped and was acting all funky so I had to copypaste the entire 400+ line script to him… over skype.

I’ll just rant here but shouldn’t the ED be changed? It start as blue then turns into the grey in the beginning.

That occurred to me at about 4 AM, by which time I was too exhausted to care. I’ll bother Caly about it next week.

at 4:55, a bit liberal there guys. girl say “tsukina no” and translated as “i wanted it”. prefer it to be “i like it” since it’s more correct :P

    1. lygerzero0zero

As a matter of fact, she says “suki” and not “tsuki” (we’re not talking about the moon or kendo here) but either way, that was how escro chose to translate it and I saw no reason to change it when I was checking the script.

      1. ylper

yeah, i meant “suki”. was late and tired when i started to comment. anyway, after watching the rest of the episode, i feel the translations are a bit liberal for my taste. also “つづきするの” -> “I’m not done”. a bit off but it works. though, putting “we’re going to continue” flow better with the last line.
anyway, thanks for the episode. i know which subs to get now.

        1. w0lf

Your first point is sort of moot considering they both convey similar meanings and “I wanted it” flows better. As for the second point, contextually they mean the same thing.

Also, if you’re good enough to be critiquing translational styles, why do you need subs in the first place? Legitimate question. No hostility intended.

          1. ylper

it isn’t really critiquing but just simple nitpicking. and why do i need sub? simple, it is never bad to learn more about the language.
