Next Season Plans (and other updates)

First thing’s first: AKB Blu-rays are getting done. Which I can announce as of today because hellborn, our encoder, has just returned from a month-long vacation + 1 week (due to unforeseen circumstances at work, apparently). We’re a bit behind, (as in nothing has been done on volume 2) but with our encoder back, we can finally start making progress again.

As for next season…

Sword Art Online is officially moving from NyanTaku to EveTaku. At the start of the season I refused to do SAO because of the simulcast, but Rekyu gathered a bunch of mostly EveTaku staff and did it anyway. Since it was basically an EveTaku project already, he asked me if we could just switch the tag mid-season, and I agreed. There will be a few changes, hopefully for the better. I’ll be taking over as project lead and have a more active role in the process, meaning stricter QC, more slavedriving, and hopefully faster releases.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (above image) will be escro’s project. He wants to do it regardless of simulcast, and at this point, I’m cool with that.

Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World) will be my project (with puddi’s assistance) if it’s not simulcast. Considering I have Physics GREs and grad school apps and a 21-credit course load, it will be relatively easy to convince me not to do this project either due to simulcast or another group I trust picking it up. That said, if I’m going to do it, I will do it. Of course we’ll continue with Kyouso Giga as new episodes come out.

Chitose Get You! will be puddi’s project. Forever and ever and ever and ever. And ever.

Oh yeah, and I did these Joshiraku videos recently just for fun.

No clue. School-life light novel adaptation, so probably average. Think you’ll be able to find the time?

I can certainly try. Not sure about soloing. I hate to admit it, but projects I’m attached to would be considered slowsub. I’ll never quit, but I don’t want to hold projects back.

As the translator and leader for Aidoru, one of the other groups doing Shinsekai Yori, I have information showing that it will indeed be airing on September 28th (September 29th, really, but Japan is silly with its post-midnight timestamps).

Is the last BD volume out already?

I certainly want to do the extra episode, but it might be a bit before BDMVs show up.

Thanks for the update on the state of your projects and projects-to-be for the fall season. And good job on the Joshiraku videos. A really great but very under-appreciated show by most fans, so I’m very thankful for the subs.

hey everyone on evetaku i was just wondering about the next chapter of takkoku and i know you probably get a lot of people asking this but could you tell me please if you guys are still translating takkoku and if so when will chapter 29 be out since its been a year since chapter 28 came out and ive been wanting to read the next chapter of tajjoju for ages since i love the manga

Chihayafuru I kind of slacked off tbh but I’m doing them in bundles now, so expect that… uh… sometime.
We’re (lol thr—two people) having an argument about Arcana, so even though we CAN release eps, they’re delayed because Rekyun is a no-good poopystain.

        1. Rekyu

I just don’t believe that show deserves TLC. It’s a baaad show. But regardless, I’ll get around to it b/c OJ-sama (Neibs) insists…

Apparently Shin Sekai Yori is going to be 4 days late simulcast on CR, probably they have to wait until TV Asahi broadcast not CS-Asahi.

Also, should I expect SAO Episode 12 and 13 to be released simultaneously?

Hmmm not enough motivation to try to beat a latecast, and I know other groups that want to do it.

Maybe I’ll start a personal blog and ramble on with novel comparisons or something, but we’re not going to be subbing Shin Sekai.

I wish you would sub Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Sukitte Iinayo. Both are shoujo, I know. But the trailer for Kaibutsu-kun is awesome and hilarious, it looks different from your average shoujo. And UTW plans on subbing Shinsekai Yori, so do you still plan on picking it up?
Psycho-Pass, Robotics;Notes, and Zetsuen no Tempest look like great shows too, and no group plans on picking them up so far.

By any chance, is this group going to translate the OVA episode of Inu x Boku SS? I am not sure if this was the best place to ask this question, but I am curious to know. It would seem as thought no one has subbed the episode as of yet. So I can’t help wonder if you guys will do the same or not.

    Again, if this is the wrong place to ask, then I’m sorry to have done so. xD;;;

The final Blu-Ray volume of AKB0048 came out on Halloween day. I can’t wait to see the rest of season 1 on brrip avi video. I know it may take some time, but I know you’ll eventually complete this. So, I’ll be patient. ;)
