Sword Art Online Episode 4~

He didn’t see anything… probably.

A common misconception is that Kirito’s a pimp. The truth is, he’s an imouto magnet.

Release was delayed by… stuff. I think we’ll probably be back to our 24-hour release schedule starting next, next week.
What does a guy need so many imoutos for?
lyger: You can never have too many imoutos.
Duly noted.
Here’s the episode in its original (translated) light novel form: Sword Art Online: Volume 2, Chapter 1
The episode cuts stuff out to save time, so read it if you want the full experience.

Typesetting should be done by tomorrow. I’ve given up on the US server coming back online in time; I’ll just upload to the EU one.

Thanks for the release guys. Waiting warmly for the AKB0048 BDs (yeah yeah, I read Lyger’s reply)

    LOLI ROUTE UNLOCKED!

Anyway, thanks for the subs you guys. Looking forword to the AKB0048 BDs as well. ^_^

Your SOA 720 8-bit version looks like it has a change to its font. Looks like it’s been un-bolded. (If that’s even a word)

      1. Calintz

Nope, I re-downloaded after you said something to make sure, and it’s still the same. The font color and everything is the same, it just looks like a thinner version of the other episodes fonts (Non-Bold).

The 480p ver. of Ep. 4 is correct, just the 8-bit 720p ver. is the one that I keep seeing this issue.

i also had this problem with the 10 bit version (although it worked in mplayer). i tried muxing in the font from a previous episode but that did not work. here is how i fixed it: in mkvmerge, i added episode 4 and an earlier episode (3, for example). then i unticked the video/audio/subtitle/chapter files for ep 3 and muxed.

i have no idea why this method was needed, or if there is an easier way.

I can confirm there is a problem with the dialogue fonts. I have the same issue with the 10-bit verison. Btw I use CCCP with xy-filter so there shouldn’t be any problem on my end because it was fine for previous episodes. Took a screencap of what it looks like to me.

The reason is because I used mkvmerge 5.3.0 to mux the episode. Haali Media Splitter won’t display fonts correctly if they are .otf and muxed with mkvmerge 5.1.0+. I use LAV Splitter which is why I see the fonts displayed correctly on my side.

We had this issue on AKB episode 2 as well.

      Sorry for the inconvenience. =/

Are you releasing the episode with the fix?

It’s not a big deal that it’s like that, just if you’re going to re-release it, i’ll want to grab it. :D

If you use relative paths when creating them, xdelta stores relative paths, instead of C:\Users\Epsilon\Desktop\SAO\sao04\…

for those of us who didn’t take patching 101, can you make a .bat file. If not please put a link to the method to do the patch.

      xdelta3 -d -s “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[87ACEFCD].mkv” “sao04-10bitv3.xdelta” “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04v3 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[BB289595].mkv”

      xdelta3 -d -s “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04 (1280×720 x264 AAC)[7AA35134].mkv” “sao04-8bitv3.xdelta” “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04v3 (1280×720 x264 AAC)[].mkv”

(First one is for 10bit. Second one is for 8bit)
Copy the code for the version you need into a text editor and save it as a .bat in the same directory as the release file and patches. Make sure you have xdelta3.exe as well.

        1. Yunno

Are you using the correct xdelta for your system? If you’re using a x64 OS, you need to download the x64 build of xdelta.

            > xdelta3 -d -s “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[87ACEFCD].mkv” “sao04-10bitv3.xdelta” “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04v3 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[BB289595].mkv”
            > xdelta3: Too many filenames: Online …
            Filename copypasted from file.
xdelta3.exe (version 3.0.2), sao04-10bitv3.xdelta, episode are in the same folder.

          2. sinkingmist

It’s probably because in Jeffer’s post he’s using “ and ”, but you need to use “

          3. sinkingmist

Herp, looks like it’s WordPress that’s doing it.
What I mean is, use the default typewriter quotation marks, not the fancy slightly curved ones.
If you use Notepad, that’ll give you the right ones.

          4. H_B

            > xdelta3 -d -s “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[87ACEFCD].mkv” “sao04-10bitv3.xdelta” “[NyanTaku] Sword Art Online – 04v3 (1280×720 x264-Hi10P AAC)[BB289595].mkv”
            > xdelta3: file open failed: read: sao04-10bitv3.xdelta: T
It hates me ;_; File doesn’t seem to be occupied by other programs, yet…
PS: Quotation marks are default ones.

          5. H_B

Damn, should have read the comments below before posting – xdeltaUI worked just fine. Must be bug in the latest version.

  6. zeroherrera

Finally got it to work after fixing the ” and copying the file names from the episode and the xdelta. Considering the future i am gonna keep these files as a guide. Thanks for your help guys!!!!

  7. Natsulus

I had the same problem, followed above, didn’t work and gave up. Then I found xdelta UI which seems easier to use and worked for me.

    1. vivant

I’ve already copied those xdelta lines mentioned above, googling, even searching in forums, and none of them worked as well as xdelta UI.
Thanks for mentioning it. Now patching seems a lot of easier. =D
